  • We will help you in the field to make your vision come alive through your camera.
  • You will learn the secrets to capturing great waterfall photographs.
  • If you would love to capture great photographs of Waterfalls then this is the tour for you.

Alive! Don’t we all feel that way when we see a majestic waterfall! Some mighty. Some smaller. Some famous. Some mysterious. But all of them breathtaking. They are located in dramatic landscapes, often in the middle of dense forest or entering into a narrow rocky gorge. The already-green landscape becomes even lusher. Streams and rivers come alive everywhere. As they plunge into valleys, they form waterfalls that alter the magical wilderness.

We Are Raw Photography invites you on this small-group landscape photography Workshop to admire and photograph two great waterfalls in one location – Discover Toorongo Falls & Amphitheatre Falls en-route a beautiful circuit walk through thick native bush…

TOORONGO FALLS
As we follow the cascading Little Toorongo River up a winding gully track we get glimpses of Toorongo Falls, and once we reach the viewing platform the bush opens up to an epic view. Here you can feel the drifting spray settle on your face and watch as the water tumbles down. There’s something about staring up at a waterfall that soothes the soul.
Take a moment, then you will learn how to use different shutter speeds in order to achieve various desired effects, how to read water activity and make interesting subjects and foregrounds on what at first might look like an ordinary waterfall.

Then we will look at the first practical steps: aperture, shutter speed, iso value, exposure compensation. What does this mean? How do you use and control it? And how do you use it to unlock endless creativity?

Now it’s time to get off the auto, and move to more creative camera settings: you are in control of your camera now! Next up are subjects like composition, the direction of light, white balance, the histogram, the use of filters in landscape photography and many more.

To finish off we will play around with the creative options we came to know during the course.

AMPHITHEATRE FALLS
Just a few hundred meters on from Toorongo Falls we will get to enjoy waterfall number two on our workshop. Amphitheatre Falls often goes under the radar when people talk about this walk, but it has a slightly higher flow than Toorongo Falls as the main Toorongo River takes this path. The Falls isn’t your traditional waterfall shape, but it’s still a beauty to capture.
There’s also plenty to explore around Amphitheatre Falls, with access tracks leading to the top and up the river.
From here it’s a short 1 km bushwalk back to the carpark.
Noojee Trestle Bridge
We will also visit areas around Noojee including the Noojee Trestle Bridge.
Post Processing
There is no better place to relax after a long walk and get creative for post-processing than the famous Noojee pub! -> Due to COVID-19 restriction this might not be possible, but post-processing session will be held in a different form.
Once our experience comes to an end we can show you how to import, post-process, and export your image to share with the world!
